Dr. Gary B. Agee, Associate Professor of Church History at Anderson University School of Theology, was ratified by the General Assembly of the Church of God as the new National Historian during its 2015 National Convention in Oklahoma City (OK). Agee will succeed Dr. Merle Strege who is retiring from this post effective June 30, 2015.
Agee currently teaches Church of God history at the graduate school of theology. He is also an author of both fiction and non fiction works that have received national acclaim. A Church of God pastor at the Beechwood Church of God, Camden, Ohio (since January 2006), Agee has special interest in research that helps the Church of God focus on reconciliation and unity.
Agee is both excited and humbled by this appointment. The Historical Society welcomes Agee and looks forward to his leadership in his new post.
