A Historical Day

A Historical Day

Today marks an exciting “historical” event. Roughly 130 years ago, the Gospel Trumpet began its publication. It was a paper whose message birthed the Church of God (Anderson). The Trumpet was painstakingly prepared; ink, movable type, bulk paper cut, folded and distributed by workers in venues across the United States and internationally. The paper was available where the workers could move physically. Even with that limitation, the message carried birthed a movement that now reaches across the globe.

Today is historical in the sense that the physical paper finds a new voice through The Historical Society of the Church of God (Anderson). In the period of eight hours, this website was built and made live to the world. What took years to accomplish for those Trumpet workers took 1/3 of a day to conceive, engineer, develop, and make live electronically to whoever wants to join the historical research and engage the message of the Church of God (Anderson).

We are pleased to offer you this website. It is a portal to the history of the Church of God (Anderson). We hope you will return regularly, read our newsletters, check some of the links, purchase historical materials, or become a member. However you engage us, welcome to a new day in the distribution of information on the heritage of the Church of God.
